Research suggests, 65% of children entering primary school today will ultimately end up working in a job that doesn’t currently exist World economic forum (The future of jobs report, 2016). 1 in 5 jobs are held by women in the wider engineering sector as a whole. In addition, 1.8 million new engineers and technicians are needed by 2025 worldwide. In the next five years, over 225,000 construction jobs in the UK are expected to be created. Across the industry, this means many new roles will need to be filled.
The 2015 Teesside University study found that 55% of young players suffer from “clinical levels of psychological distress" three weeks after being released by a football club and less than 1% of academy football players make it to professional careers as well as thousands who do land professional contracts still find themselves discarded by their teams two or three years later. This isn’t just an issue with football clubs, these concerns also span across other sports. Therefore more needs to be done to support players and their mental healths transitioning into the wider world of work.
The Fest Hub was born to address these issues through our unique and innovate platform connecting Football, Education & STEM (FEST) but not limited to just football. Providing support for our young people particularly from disadvantaged communities and athletes into these careers should the sport not work out favourably for them.
The Fest Hub is the official hub connecting Football, Education & STEM. Using the power of sport to encourage young people into STEM careers.
The Fest Hub offers Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM) programmes to professional sports club all across the United Kingdom.
The Fest Hub welcomes new partnerships and collaborations. We are always on the lookout for new ways to work with people and companies.
